Creating interactive graphic novels about Maryland’s contributions
Distribute for free digitally to schools, summer camps, libraries and individuals. Will come with literacy development lessson plans and assessments for teachers.
Commemorating Maryland’s contributions to U.S. history. The first series we are working on is a graphic novel about Heathcliff learning about the significant contributions of Maryland’s indigenous people. There will be other themes in the series.
Children and Youth Workshops and Programs, Summer and Fall 2026
Running free Interactive Graphic Novel Youth Workshops and Programs for youth on weekends, after-school, during school and holidays. Some workshops will be held at Towson University.
Available to ages 5-18, youth will be creating their own interactive graphic novels about stories of Maryland’s contributions for America250. They’ll develop reading, writing and technology skills. Workshops will be led by Peter Gallagher, Heathcliff cartoonist and owner.
Below are scenes from the storyboard for the interactive and animated graphic novel and comic strip featuring Heathcliff. In this series, Heathcliff visits sites important to indigenous people in Baltimore. The graphic novel celebrates their contributions to Maryland’s history and American history.

Our work includes youth camps and workshops, professional development, adult leadership and empowerment training, youth and K-5 interactive STEAM programming, summer camps and after-school programming. We also have an online educational platform with animated stories, games and activities with accompanying educational supplies and materials.
Our Presence in Maryland: With our home in the Gateway Arts District (located along Route 1 and Baltimore Avenue, south of College Park, MD) and StarTUp at the Armory at Towson University, we’ve been working in Maryland communities and with Maryland organizations and businesses schools since 2015. We have also formerly done work with M-NCPPC, delivering youth programming and training.
We are especially proud of our accomplishments.
1. We developed the first interactive and multimedia youth stories and materials about the National Park Service.
2. Our innovations earned us a nomination for the UNESCO Prize for Literacy Improvement Through Digital Books.
As a proud graduate of Maryland’s Towson University StarTUP at the Armory accelerator—named the #1 university economic development program in the U.S.—we continue to push boundaries in education, learning and training. Our work has been honored internationally, with nominations by UNESCO for programming awards and recognition from iMums Net, RM Books, Starbucks, and the Library of Congress.

Children and Youth Programming

All designed to engage youth while fostering improvement in critical foundational skills (reading, writing and math) and a love of learning.
